Palm Sunday

Ty and Maddie got to wave their palms for Palm Sunday at church with Logan and Carson. After a little convincing, Maddie decided she would walk with Aunt Tracey. Ty was excited to go on his walker. I actually had to stop him because he wanted to start the parade during the announcements rather than wait for the music. I had to keep him moving during the walk around the church because he wanted to look and smile at each member of the congregation!

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny

Saturday morning Tracey and I took the kids to breakfast with the Easter Bunny and an Easter Egg Hunt. Since the mom to kid ratio was 1:2, it was eventful! We both admitted this was an adventure in which we could have used some additional adults. Maddie and Ty just grabbed food off the plates and stuffed it in their mouths while sitting on our laps (didn't bring portable high chairs). Carson's pancakes and eggs were touched by Maddie, which resulted in tears. I think Logan actually ate his pancakes. I don't think Tracey got to eat anything, and I had a piece of sausage. Then it was time for the egg hunt. Tracey went with her boys and I went to a different location with the twins. It was outside and extremely muddy! Ty wanted to crawl instead of walk. Maddie wasn't very impressed with the situation. She fell in the mud instantly. They were putting their eggs in a Wal-Mart bag because I didn't think to bring an Easter basket to an Easter Egg Hunt!! Anyway, Maddie and Ty could each find 18 eggs a piece. We might have had ten in our bag, thanks to a nice boy and his grandma who gave us at least half of those! When it was time to empty the eggs, I let Maddie and Ty each eat a piece of candy. Ty was unhappy with that decision (his favorite sign is "candy") and threw a fit in the middle of everyone! One kind lady came over and even asked what was wrong. She must not see a two year old head bunting the floor when he doesn't get his way too often! Because of all this, there are not any pictures of the hunt because I wasn't able to manage that. Thank goodness Easter is only once a year!

Smile Baby

Maddie wanted me to take a picture of her baby, so I did! I think this means I take way too many pictures...

Not Quite Yet

Aunt Tracey brought a tricycle for Ty and Maddie. Unfortunately, Maddie still needs to grow just a tad to be able to touch the pedals. Hopefully, by the summer we will be able to ride!

A Visit from our Cousins

This weekend the Meyers family came to our house for a visit. The boys (Chris and Jason) spent the weekend watching college basketball games at BW3's, while the rest of us went swimming and played. They got a room at the Holiday Inn Express so the kids could swim. We went swimming three times in 24 hours!Of course, someone had to be sick and it was Ty's turn. I think he has a stomach virus, but he was still able to participate in all the fun!

Finally!

Ty has graduated to a forward facing car seat! After two long years in a pumpkin seat, he now weights enough to ride in style. I felt like he was missing out on life by not being able to look out the car window on all our trips. As you can tell, he is pretty happy about the situation. Maddie kept saying "Hi Ty Ty" about a zillion times on their first car trip.

Church

Before church, Aunt Tracey and Carson took Ty on a walk around the sanctuary. Carson thought he should carry him! Maddie liked standing on the pew waiting for Pastor Nick and the music ("I like the music.") We made it through the entire service even though we weren't very quiet. Maddie forgot how to whisper, and Ty thought everything was funny. Still I thought they were extremely well behaved since Saturday night no one slept much, and we had to spring forward!! Needless to say, the car trip back to Zanesville was a quiet one....two sleepers the entire way!

Birthday Bash in Wilmington

Maddie and Ty had their second birthday party. This one took place at Ma and Pa's with my side of the family and friends. Once again we kept it simple...opened presents, ate dinner, and had cake. Ty was a little more interested in opening his gifts, and Maddie was a little less interested. It is so hard to open a gift and then not be able to play with it instantly! Dinner was mostly catered by Aunt Tracey who made lasagna and Ho Ho cake. It was a very relaxing party and the family stayed around for awhile just to play with the twins and talk! My cousin, Jonathan, had old family photos with him. We all checked them out and reminisced about the "good old days!" However, there was one picture that caught everyone's eye. It was a Christmas card picture of Tracey, Doug, Jonathan, and me. I might have been three....and now we know exactly where Maddie got her red hair! The only down side of the party was that Logan didn't get to come until the end because he had strep throat.
*We tried to get another family photo at this party, and once again, Ty is holding up his two index fingers so you can't see his face!
