Picnic and a Playground

Monday night we packed a picnic and went to Dillon State Park. Chris had to mark his Cross Country course.
First, Ty and Maddie ate their dinner.

Then they hit the playground.
Ty went down the slide on his belly all night.

Mulch!
Ty climbed up on the turtle all by himself. He was very proud!

Maddie had to one up him and stand on the turtle!

Playground Hopping

I had this great idea (or so I thought) to go playground hopping after nap time. I wanted to take Maddie and Ty to three playgrounds. I packed special snacks for each playground and plenty of water and juice. Chris said it was hot out, but I thought he was exaggerating!
It was sizzling hot! All three of us were drenched in sweat immediately!

They needed drinks and snacks after about only 25 minutes!
After eating two of her snacks and drinking two juice boxes, Maddie wanted to go home! Of course, Ty wanted to stay!
I let Ty play for a few more minutes, and then decided it was probably a good idea to head home.
Ty moseyed to the car only after shutting each gate. I guess we will go playground hopping on a fall afternoon!

Painting

Sunday afternoon Ty and Maddie wanted to finger paint.
Immediately, they started painting body parts.
Ty hard at work.
"Look at my hands, Mama!"
"Mine too!"

Notice Maddie is now beginning to paint her legs!

Eating it? Yuck!
Mmmmmm

"It's like lotion!"
They did manage to paint two pictures and numerous body parts!

Busy Saturday

Chris got initiated into being an elementary teacher...spending his weekend in his "classroom" (aka his gym). He had a few things to do, so we all went with him.

Ty throwing his red ball.

Daddy slaving away while the rest of us played.

I tried to get some school work done too. I went to make some copies. Maddie and Ty followed and were playing in the hallway. Then I heard a beeping noise. I run into the hallway and they had pushed the emergency button in the elevator! I knew that someone would call and make sure everything was ok (at least, that's what happened when they pushed the button at my school!), but it just kept beeping. A few minutes late, the Adamsville fire department arrived! Needless to say, Daddy was not to happy with us!
Next, we went for pizza at Adornettos to use our summer reading program coupons. The Brownriggs went with us, and then we went to watch McKenna play baseball and Uncle Adam coach his Miracle League team.
Maddie and Braxton holding hands in the parking lot.

I messed up the times and we missed McKenna's game; however, we cheered on some other kids!

Maddie took this picture. Uncle Adam is in the orange shirt.

Our second gymnastics session went a little better. We still need practice in listening and following directions, as well as gymnastics skills.

I am redirecting Maddie to return to sho0ting hoops.
