Rolling Ridge Ranch Animal Park

Since going to Rolling Ridge Ranch was such a great experience last year, we decided to try it again this year. I have tried to do a better job of "pre-teaching" Ty and Maddie about our adventures this summer. For example, before going to the circus, I showed them a video of a circus and read a book about it. Then we get there, Ty flips out, and hates it. We talked about fireworks and I googled them to show what they would be like.....Ty and Maddie fell asleep and never saw them! Well, this morning we spent about 25 minutes on the Rolling Ridge Ranch website watching the video and looking at pictures. We talked and talked about the horses that would pull our wagon and what color they might be. You get the picture? Ty and Maddie are pumped for the trip! Then we were almost there and Maddie from the back seat shouts, "I am not going. I am not getting on that wagon." Really? There will be no more "pre-teaching"!!
Luckily, Maddie changed her mind!

An elk trying to stay cool.

Ty wanted to feed every animal...yep, all 500!

I think they might kiss Daddy!
How close are they going to get?
Ty getting a closer look.

Maddie liked to throw the food out to the animals rather than the animals dip into her bucket.

Ty too!

Ty was in heaven on this trip. He loves deer and there were a ton of deer on the ranch, plus a lot of animals that looked similar to a deer. Therefore, he signed "deer" most of the trip.
Daddy and Maddie feeding the Texas Longhorn. You had to feed it on the wagon floor so you wouldn't get hit by his horns!

Thank you Charlie and Doc for the hour ride around the ranch.
There was even a petting zoo!
Another successful trip to the ranch! We will be back next summer if not before!
