Ma's Back

On Monday, Ma had back surgery. She was quite a trooper and her four hour surgery went fine. She had a rough day or so, but seems to be doing much better now. Hopefully she will come home Friday. Since I was on Spring Break Monday, I got to be at the hospital all day. I did not like leaving her in the hospital and returning to Zanesville! However, dad and Tracey have kept me updated. I will be returning to Wilmington soon to help take care of her!

Spring Break 2011

Our Spring Break (Friday and Monday!) was spent in Wilmington. Ty, Maddie and I went to Ma and Pa's after school Thursday. Chris met us there Saturday after the state basketball tournament.
Friday morning Aunt Margie and Jen came over and brought Ty and Maddie their birthday gifts from all the great aunts.
Ty was allowing his puppet, Elmo, to chew gum.
Maddie was impressed with the T and M on the gift. She told Aunt Margie how to spell Ty and Maddie, her address, and what county she lives in.
Then Maddie, Ty, and Carson went outside to burn off some energy. Poor Logan was at school!

A lot of the weekend was spent doing art projects. It was a good way to settle all four cousins down. They can get a little wild when they are all together!
Ma had all the pieces for a felt bunny cut out so all Ty and Maddie had to do was glue it together.
Then they sat at the bar and colored. I love Ty's face!
still a lefty
Carson looking pretty cute.
Saturday morning Ma kicked us out so she could clean before the baby shower. We went to Aunt Tracey's.
Maddie and Ty had to watch Logan and Carson play outside because I did not bring winter clothes for them. The boys didn't stay out too long since it was so cold.

Saturday afternoon Ma, Tracey and I hosted a baby shower for Justin Thatcher and his wife.
Carson decided to attend the event with Maddie.
I am not sure if this was a good idea or not....Maddie tasting the icing before it was time.

Yard Work

Chris had yard work to do Sunday afternoon. The kids and I went out with him and played while he worked.
Maddie perfecting her tuck jump.
Ty enjoying the spring weather. His blanket needed some fresh air too.
Ty brought out his old blank and new blank. He let Maddie use his new blank.
Maddie practicing her donkey kicks.

Ty sporting his hood.

Maddie going down the big slide.

Sibling love

Maddie mimicking a move Carson taught her over the weekend.
Notice Ty's diaper hanging out. He wanted a dry diaper so he started taking it off. Then he got sidetracked and started playing with other toys.

Gymnastics

Saturday we had our 5th session of gymnastics. Aunt Tracey and the boys came along to watch.

Ty on the rope swing.

Maddie on the balance beam. BB comes with us each week to help.

Ty on the hop scotch.

Maddie "crowning" after she stuck her landing.

Maddie came over to the balance beam when Ty was walking on it.

BB helping Maddie on the bars.

Ty getting ready to "cast."

Ty and I taking a little break on the beam.

Once again, Maddie came over to Ty's station. She grabbed his hand and told him to jump with her!

Ty must have loved having an audience this week because he put on quite a performance. The other weeks he hadn't quite shown his love of gymnastics. However, this week he was on fire! He did every station and had fun doing them!! Maddie continued to shine. Being the only girl and only one who has taken this class before she appears to know what she is doing.

March Madness

As tradition has it, the Meyers family visits us for the first weekend of March Madness. Chris and Jason watch all the games at BW3s from sun-up to sun-down. Tracey and I are on kid duty. They arrived Friday night. After dinner, the cousins iced their own cupcakes.
Ty let Aunt Tracey help him.
Maddie didn't get to eat a cupcake because she did not eat her dinner. Instead she put her applesauce and cottage cheese on her pizza. For some reason she didn't want to eat her pizza then!
Carson making a funny face because he didn't want me to take his picture.
Logan's cupcake looked yummy.
Saturday morning after gymnastics we went to the Holiday Inn to go swimming. Chris and Jason stayed at Holiday Inn Saturday night so they could watch basketball without interruptions! They swam for over an hour. When we came home I fed Ty lunch and then found Maddie conked out on the air mattress in the family room.
Everyone enjoying a swim.
Ty blowing bubbles.
Chris tossing Logan. He loved it!

We went swimming three times in 24 hours. Tracey and I love how it wears everyone out!
