Swim Lessons Week 5

Another Saturday morning spent at swim lessons.  This was Maddie and Ty's first outing since Tuesday and I was a little worried that someone was going to get sick in the pool.  However, everyone was fine!
waiting for Maddie to finish her lesson
watching Maddie
(I know I look gorgeous...I work out right before the lessons!)
Maddie going under to get a swim toy
putting face in water
jumping in...which is Ty's favorite part
Can you see Ty?  I have to hide from Ty during his lesson or he cries for me.  If he doesn't see me, he's fine.

Marshmallows

Friday night Chris' family went out to dinner (the kids and I stayed home).  Then everyone came back to our house afterwards to make s'mores.
Uncle Adam teaching Ty the correct roasting marshmallow techniques.

everyone around the fire
Mmmmm....yummmy
Emma enjoyed her s'more.
Ty loved to roast marshmallows.  He didn't eat them, just roasted them.
oops...it's on fire!

Ty was excited to see BB because she was in Columbus all week training for a new job.

Science Project

The Doyle family got a bunch of science projects for Ty and Maddie for their birthday.  Chris and the kids did lots of the experiments on Thursday when they were home sick.  Chris could only take pictures of the volcano because the other experiments he had to be very involved in.

Now every morning Ty and Maddie ask what science project we are going to do!

Snuggle

Since Ty and Maddie haven't felt good this week, I have gotten to snuggle a lot with them!  This is basically what we have done for the last four days.

Ma's Project

Ma always has a project for her grandchildren.  For this project, Logan, Carson, Maddie, and Ty planted pumpkin seeds.

We used Pa's truck bed as our table.

On a side note, Carson invited Maddie to spend Saturday night at his house.  Always, in the past, they have spent the night at Ma's.  I told Aunt Tracey good luck since Maddie has not spent an entire night in her own bed since last summer.  Guess what?  Maddie stayed in Carson's bed all night!!

Not for a weak stomach

In case your wondering....background information....Ty has been sick since Tuesday.  It started with diarrhea and then vomiting was added to the mix.  Chris took him to the doctor and Dr. Minnis thought he had Rotovirus.  However, his test did come back negative on Thursday.

Thursday at 4 pm, Chris had to start chugging a bucket of some sort of concoction for his colonoscopy on Friday.  Therefore, he spent the evening in the bathroom.

Maddie took a shower and had not put on her pj's yet, when she was hit with diarrhea.  Needless to say she didn't make it to the bathroom. I scooped her up and took her to the kitchen to clean her up.  While scrubbing her, Ty begin coughing...which I know is going to turn into vomit.  I leave stinky Maddie in the kitchen and run to try to make sure Ty is vomiting in the bucket.

Do you need any more details!

Madalyn Olivia

I knew something was up....

Tracey planned a surprise 40th birthday party for Jason.  We left right after school on Friday to try to make it at 6:30 since Jason was suppose to come at 7.  Well, we happened to arrive when Jason and Tracey did.  Oops!  I thought we had ruined the surprise, but Jason pulled a note out of his wallet that read, "I knew something was up."  He wanted to prove that no one can pull a fast one on him!
Ty was super excited about cake!
Guess whose finger prints?  If you guessed Maddie, you are correct!

Maddie and Ty were the only kids there.  They were really good!
We spent some time on the deck.

Shades of Pink

I am doing the dishes in the kitchen.  Maddie enters.

Maddie:  It is just horrible.
Me:  What is horrible?
Maddie:  All I have is light pink hair things and I need hot pink!
Me:  You're right Maddie.  That is horrible!

Zoe

Need a Mother's Day idea? Jen, a special friend and colleague, has a daughter named Zoe who has a bracelet named after her! Please read about Zoe and about this wonderful foundation.
(I copied this note from Jen's facebook page.)
Dear family and friends, please take a moment to check out the site below for Asher Bracelets and The Asher Foundation. God brought these amazing people into our family's life and journey with Zoe and hydrocephalus at His always perfect time! Kim and her sister Kelley have become our friends and prayer warriors during the past 3 months. Kim has a little boy named Ward with hydrocephalus, like Zoe. She and her family have begun this foundation to help people here and around the world who are struggling with this condition. They create amazing bracelets, headbands, and other things to raise money and bless others. They have created a bracelet in honor of Zoe and her story is now on their website. Please consider ordering a Zoe bracelet for yourself or for someone maybe for Mother's Day. Support a great cause and show your love for Zoe as well. We would be so grateful!
