Ty's Surgery

Ty had eye muscle surgery to fix his lazy eye as well as a hearing test Friday morning. We had to be at Columbus Children's at 6:15 am. Ty was ready because he got up at 3 am ready to roll! Unfortunately, when he found out he couldn't eat or drink, he wasn't very pleased. Ma met us at the hospital, so that cheered him up!
The eye muscle surgery went perfect. Dr. McGeiger was able to do exactly what she wanted, and the eye did not bleed much. We found out that Ty does have a mild hearing loss in his left ear and doesn't hear sounds like t, th, ch, and sh. Now he will be getting a hearing aid which we hope will help with his speech development.
Ty was not happy after surgery, but once we got to the car he quickly fell asleep and slept for almost four hours. He woke up starved, ate a box of Cheerios and was his happy-go-lucky self the rest of the night. When I went to work out, Chris said he feel asleep while sitting on the couch (see above picture). Ty slept through the night and is fine today! Another situation where we just say, "What a trooper!"
