Maddie and Ty have really enjoyed watching bits and pieces of the Olympics. They are cheering for all the Americans and constantly chanting "USA!"
Chris and the kids were watching water polo while I was working in the kitchen. I heard Chris trying to explain why the athletes were wearing what Maddie thought was underwear. Chris was trying to explain that they were were special swim trunks called Speedos . I am not sure Ty and Maddie believe him yet.
Then we were all watching the women's gymnastics. Maddie saw Gabby Douglas and said, "I don't like her!" I questioned Maddie to find out why she didn't like her and she said, "I don't like anyone who wears a messy ponytail." Classic Maddie!

Church Day
Ryan's Bowling Party
Ryan celebrated his 5th birthday at the bowling ally. |
Maddie bowling. At first she was throwing the ball down the ally rather than rolling. |
Ty's turn |
There goes his ball. |
Braxton bowling with perfect form. |
Some big kids bowled too! |
Ryan's grandpa, Don |
gathered around the balls |
Ty was intrigued with the ball return. |
Hudson was there too! |
Why is Maddie sitting so nicely? |
And Ty and Carter just sitting? |
Because it was cake time! |
blowing out the candle |
time to eat |
Ty loved the cake and ice cream! |
gift time We went in with the Brownrigg family and got Ryan all ready to go fishing....pole, tackle box, bobbers, hooks, sinkers, worms, and acamping chair. |
Then we went to Adornetto's to use our pizza coupon from the summer reading program. After dinner the Brownriggs came back to our house. |
We took two double strollers and went on a walk. |
The boys stayed home and build shelves in our garage. |
Finally getting organized after 9 years! |
I guess the kids were pretty excited to see Nate when he finished in the garage! |
Mr. and Mrs. Cameron
Mr. and Mrs. Cameron |
Chris and I attended a wedding without kids! Well, I really was excited not to be chasing two kids around because it was really hot outside! |
Tiff and Nate went with us and we even left early so we could eat out...pretty cool. |
all dressed up |
Don't worry, Ty and Maddie were hanging out with Mimi all night. They had pizza and watched the Olympic's opening ceremony. Thanks Mimi! |
Helpers
We had some bananas that needed to be made into banana nut bread. |
I searched on Pinterest and found a recipe for which I already had all the ingredients Then Ty and Daddy made the bread which I wasn't expecting to be very good. |
However, I was wrong and it was delicious! |
The next day I was making some lazy cake cookies, and I had my helpers. |
My helpers think the best part is licking the beaters. |
Next, I had a project for school that required colored rice. |
So Maddie and Ty shook the containers to change the color of the rice. |
Rice in containers and shake! |
Shake! |
They loved these shakers. I think I am going to make one for them and put letters and numbers inside. |
Finally, Friday, we had a pool play-date at Ashley's parents' pool. The weather was perfect and the kids had fun eating and swimming! |
Belated Birthdays
Sunday evening we went to BB's house |
to celebrate Bryan's birthday |
and Matt's birthday |
which were in the middle of July. |
Then we celebrated Marilyn's birthday which is Wednesday. |
Maddie and Ty were super excited about hanging out with Lynda and all the Millers. Maddie and Ty enjoyed singing Happy Birthday to everyone. |
