Spring Break

Our Spring Break was cut short to just Good Friday since we have a plethora of snow days to make up. Therefore, we had to pack quite a bit into a three day weekend. Thursday, after school, we started heading towards Wilmington. We had to stop at Adornetto's to get a couple unbaked pizzas for dinner (it's Logan favorite pizza). However, when leaving the drive thru Ty threw up everywhere! We had to turn around and go back home to clean up and change car seats. At home, while trying to clean up, there was more excitement. Remember the massage gel story from a few weeks ago? That basically happened again... but change the bathroom to the bedroom and the gel to lotion! Ty was fine, just chugged a bunch of milk too fast which didn't turn out to be a good idea. Anyway, a little later we were back on the road.
Friday morning we went with our cousins to Carson's preschool for an Easter Egg hunt. Before the hunt, we sang some fun songs which Ty enjoyed. This hunt went much better than last week, Chris went along and helped Ty while I helped Maddie. From there we hopped back in the car and went to Dayton to Chuck E Cheese's. It wasn't quite what I remembered from when I was little. To be honest, I thought it would have more "little stuff" for Maddie and Ty. They both liked ski ball, but only needed one ball since their ball kept rolling back to them. Ty just wanted to put a coin in every coin slot (waste of $, but good fine motor skill practice). Maddie wanted to ride the horse and cars over and over. We left when it got really busy. After long naps and dinner, we went to the neighbor's house and feed their horses. We fed them a healthy snack of apples first, and then a special treat of candy canes. Maddie is still talking about this trip!
Saturday morning Ma and I took Maddie and Ty to the Dayton Mall to see the Easter bunny. The line wasn't too long since it was Easter Eve. Maddie was not too excited about the bunny, but Ty was beaming! If 50% is happy, I call that success! Saturday evening we had our Easter dinner at Ma's house.
Sunday morning we went to the pancake breakfast at church that Pa helps with. Then it was on to the kid's program and Easter Egg Hunt. Finally, it was time for the actual church service. Ty and Maddie had to be removed from the sanctuary during the Children's sermon. Ty was crying because I wouldn't let him crawl all over the place, so Chris took him out without any shoes on. Then Maddie kept wanting to sit by Carson on the steps, but he wouldn't let her. Then she gave Shirley about six high fives during her children's sermon and was walking around. When I grabbed her from the front again, she spit in my face! That was the last straw and I carried her out and headed for the nursery. Quite an exciting start to the day.
Eventually, we made it back to Zanesville after stopping at Mimi's to see what the Easter Bunny had left at her house. The rest of the afternoon was spent outside enjoying another gorgeous spring day. Happy Easter!
